I wondered the same thing, and I had some trouble seeing the point of a large .243 with a huge target scope. I bought long ago a Peterlongo of Insbruck full-length rifle (stutzen) in .257 Roberts with a great big Fecker scope. It was the ideal thing for shooting chamois in the Alps, of course, but I don't actually hunt chamois, so the combination of a small cartridge and a large rifle with a long target scope made less and less sense to me, so I sold it. I have had a hankering for a nice custom Krag sporter for a long time, so I was very tempted by this one.
