When I finally retrieved the 'Tape' and put it in the machine, I had never been so 'Bored' ....I've only been 'Whacking on Walnut for 54 yrs....Wood Peddlers piss me off with there 'Oh my god ...look... YOU have never ever seen a stock-blank with Figure, Colour, Grain, Stucture, Content,Absolute Perfection, :The Holy Grail of Gun-Stocks' Olde English Gunmakers Term for this Spiel from a Wood-Hussler'...Bollocks....Try cutting this so-called piece of Krapp with a 1/4" flat chisel, across the grain where the 'head of the action will be bedded!!!Be it a Boss O/U AHFox Sterlingworth. Purdey db 20b.Lefever C grade, Holland& H 28bore,(maybe I should say Gauge;?)...or a L>C>Smith Field Grade 20 Bore,I guess being a 'Traditional' Stockmaker who still uses tools that were cutting Purdey Stocks in the 1800s I could be considered"Old Fashioned"..But I really should not Knock (or Mock) Those hard working, Chain-Saw Wielding,Lumber-men,(May-be"Lumber-Women")who wrestle the Logs with chains, Sleds, Mules,to get the Walnut Logs to the sawmills,then to 'Mill the logs into what the 'Magazine Writers" can drool over....Glossie Photos, Can of Spray Wax, Magic from 'ETs" Space-ship...Over the years. I have used Many of Presliks Blanks, They compare very favorably with the Real French Walnut"That I Imported from......"France" from 1965 untill..(I have 2 Blanks) now.By the way, I did try to help Hiatt, I sent his Tape to 5 Editors' but...I think McItosh still has it in his"Will Do" File.Oh, by the way Pete The Flint Purdey at the South Audley Street Shop is No. Eighty-Six, I have No 208.
