I shoot my reloaded bismuth 1 1/8oz out of all my vintage Damascus and steel guns. I load 1 1/4oz for my 10ga guns. I used 10 boxes of Rio bismuth this year and was very happy. I can't reload bismuth for what Rio sells it for especially when it went on sale at Academy Sports this last fall.
The best non-tox in my opinion is Kent TM. I use it in my Super Fox only.I use it for late season mallards and it is very deadly and patterns very well in my Super. I look forward to Kent Bismuth and will give up reloading 12 GA if it becomes readily avaliable and priced competitively with Rio.
That's interesting. As someone who has never reloaded but is seriously considering it, is it even worth looking into for non-toxic loads? From the savings standpoint.
Thanks
Joe
Joe. As Craig says, loading for vintage guns, especially the short tens. There is not much choice.
Heavier guns can take the 2 3/4 bismuth. I would not hesitate in the Smith Long Range or to use the Kent TM in a super Fox. But I'll pay the price to assemble specfic low pressure loads for my old hammer gun and other Damascus and twist barrels
