Hemingway's son Jack was the real adventurer in the family. Behind the lines in France in WWII with the OSS, forerunner of the CIA. (He parachuted into France carrying a fly rod.) One of the first Special Forces officers after the war. His autobiography is well worth reading. In it, he said something to the effect that he recognized it was his fate to be the son of a famous father, and a father of famous daughters.
