I have a nice little .22 Hornet converted rook rifle The metal is awesome and the wood grain is good. The problem is that someone in it's past has refinished the stock in a less than expert manner. Now there are tiny areas where the stock does not touch the metal and it just doesn't look good.

The question is....Is there a way, short of restocking, maybe by re-inletting/re-fitting that the present stock can be made to look reasonable? I do have a blank with great figure and color but with a less than stellar wrist that probably could work, considering the very low recoil for the caliber, if I do go the restocking route.
