Hi Gang. Happy Father's Day. I would just like to pick your brain on what you think about Parker Reproductions. It seems to me that they might be perfect if one wanted a Parker, but wanted one that shot modern ammo and not worry about stuffing olde bestsy with lo-pressure stuff. What are your opinions on engraving, fit and finish????
-Thank You.

How can you go wrong with a Parker, buy it, shoot it, wear it out then turn around and sell it for twice as much as you paid for it!!!!
All the best

My observation is that they've appreciated about 20-30% over the last 4 years. That's pretty good appreciation.

The guns are well made IMO. They still represent a good buy for the money.

They are excellent guns. I bought one new in 28ga. back in the mid '90s. I have never had a problem with it. It is a great handling bird gun and nice to look at. Mine is now worth at least twice what I paid for it.

Not getting one back when Jaquas was selling off the remainder of the guns was a mistake. I agree with Chuck, they were well made guns.

Missing out on the Repros was one of the reasons I got on the RBL bandwagon.

Over the last 60 years I've looked at, handled and shot quite a few Parkers. Most were is some state of disrepair. I bought a DHE 28 gauge Parker Reproduction, fourth owner, several years ago. It was very good money spent and a better gun than the originals I've handled - not counting the very few that were in as-new condition and higher grades. I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

I own a bunch of shotguns including some real Parkers and some Winchester Reproductions. My favorite gun in the safe is my 20 ga Repro that I bought from Jaqua's for $1900. I have shot hundreds - maybe thousands - of rounds through it and it has performed perfectly. It fits me well and "points itself" as they say. If you're a fan of Parker guns I don't see how you could not enjoy owning and shooting one of these guns for all the reasons stated above.

I've owned one in 20 gauge for almost 20 years and been very pleased with it. My wood is AAA, and the case coloring has endured.

Originally, I had problems with the single trigger "doubling", but that was repaired by Regent and has never re-occured.

Just one last question. I have noticed that the going rate for these guns is about $3900.00 w/ case. Is this resonable, or are they overpriced right now?
