After the last Parker I did and the trouble in getting the barrels back on face after the case coloring I don't know if I will do any more project guns.

At least that's what I am telling myself today. Tomorrow could be different.

I am in the process of re-finishing the wood on an Army & Navy .410 Hammer gun. I did some rudimentary repairs to the buggered forend and will eventually have a new one made. I am just about done with the wood on my Wm Lee SLNE (ca 1890) it is coming out beautifully, even if I say so myself. I will be stripping the wood on my Ithaca Knick before I have the checkering recut and a general re-tuning by a 'smith, before I do an oil finish on it. As soon as I can find a stocker, I would like to have my Flues 16 bore, ejector gun re-stocked (even though this is not a good investment) and at the same time a new forend made for the A&N. ............ I wonder if I should just have the A&N resticked completely instead of the Flues? Suggestions?

Well, this my project gun. Now, if I can squeeze some time in to work on it I'll be a happy guy.

At present I have two project guns one is a12 ga GH Parker from 1900 which is at a gunsmith to see if the barrels are salvagable for light smokeless loads. and the other is a 10 ga o grade Parker from 1875 which is in fair condition and I shoot BP loads in it. The issue is the interesting stock which has a fully checkered knob but was cracked. I think I have repaired the cracks but must get the get the gun to someone who can properly re-inlet the trigger guard (get all the epoxy out of the edges) and make one new screw which split on removal. The gun had never had the screws turned but needed a through cleaning. It has the early 10 ga dimensions: 28 3/16" barrels, 2 5/8" chambers, drop at heel not excessive (for me), weight just under 9 lbs. Great pheasant gun. I will try to post pictures from anothr computer. David

Thanks Chuck, I'll have to get off my butt and get the rifle back into action again. The spent cartridges did have a 25-20 headstamp - now to find one!

RCBS is out of the custom die business UNLESS they have made the reamer/die set in the past.

They would not make up a die set for my .450 BPE that used coiled brass cases when it was made.

I have ten project guns from quality English SxS's, target bolt actions, Austrian double rifles and AR-15's that I am fixing, having fixed or building at this time.

Listed them in nicely written post that disapeared when I hit the wrong button on the keyboard...............
