from time to time, i have brokered sxs guns that have had after market choke tubes installed...once in a while, test firing will reveal that one or both barrels do not shoot to the same point of aim...has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?

also, the only solution i know of, to fix the problem, is to loosen the solder at the muzzles in order to re regulate the barrels...fortunately, i have the services of an old time nh gunsmith, ed lander, who has the tooling and skill to fix these kinds of problems...

Ed - If the gun shot to the correct point of aim before the tube installation, Then the problem is obviously in the quality of the choke work

turdurgs: most likely...however, my question is more broadly this:

what have been the negative and positive experiences of others who have had after market choke tubes installed in sxs double guns...it is my understanding that it is a risky proposition...

mike: the question is not about the quality of brileys work nor any body elses...the question is, what has been your experience in having sxs guns tubed? good result or bad result?

have been tempted to have the work down, but have been afraid to do so.

mike: to clarify, are you suggesting that once the barrels have been threaded and tubes installed, that briley can re thread the barrels and reinstall tubes to correct a point of aim problem?

No, Briley can machine choke tubes for the present already threaded barrels to bring them into alignment
