Unless the pattern is grossly misplaced, why bother?
It's a shotgun, not a rifle.
If you are worried Ed, just have your blind blacksmith friend,(the one with untreated Parkinson's disease), have at it, and then invoke your return policy if someone buy's it.
That should pretty much cover every eventuality for you.

I see no mention of an Ed Lander in my post. You must be projecting.
There is no economical solution to the problem.
The trapezoidal threaded, ultra thin chokes have problems all their own. If there's enough mat'l to begin with.
Soldering a sleeve in, and rehoning is about the cheapest permanent solution.
Again, it's a shotgun. Industrial class shotguns don't over print thier patterns perfectly.

so, it seems like so far, no one is willing to share their experiences, good or bad, re fitting a sxs doublegun with screw in choke tubes...

OK, I will play What gun, what chokes, what is the specific issue? Is the gun listed on Gunbroker? I have had a few shoot sour but I was selective in replacing choke tubes and the problems went away. If you go fishing, you might catch a fish

mike: i have no current examples to share... it sounds like you do...please do share with us at least one each of your recent good and bad experiences with after market tubed sxs guns...and in the spirit of good taste and fairness, please do not publish id's of smiths who did the work, as it is not the purpose of this thread to sing the praises of some, while casting dispersions on others, and in particular those who are not here to defend their work...it would low class and weasel like to do so.

3 guns I've had Briley put choke tubes in printed to point of aim very well. I never used anyone else. Didn't see the economy in it.

All the SXS tubed gun were fitted with proper corrective tubes and sent on to be adopted, either by giving to the Boy Scouts, or other youth organizations. Life is good when young boys and girls learn to shoot. https://www.calfarley.org/Only one shotgun currently left in the stable with off set choke issues. That is a 3200 trap barrel that was cut and screw choked. First swaged off center and then threaded off center. Got around all that by getting tapered choke tubes to insure the tube did not stick up in the barrel channel. WHEW!!
