Mike, You already know what I think of Garbi. That price sounds fair to me for a 101.... Especially for a 28ga with 29" barrels. Those are the magic numbers. Is a round or square body? How the wood quality?

Here's mine (bottom gun). A model 100 in 28ga with 29" barrels... Man I love that gun!

Good luck!

Given the significant price jump in Spanish guns, there are quite a few good deals on the used market.

Beautiful gun at $6,000 to $7,000 are they the same at $16,000 to $17,000?

At that price what guns are they competing with and bumping into? Or, in other words, would you rather have a top tier Spanish gun built to your specs or an off the shelf gun with its standard, ill fitting, stock dimensions?

Well, the used ones are bumping into good quality guns from other European countries plus nice older BLEs from Birmingham England. I guess at $15000 to $20000 they are bumping into older English SLE guns from places other than worshipful West London. One does get gun fit by buying expensive new Spanish gun but does Joe Avg. need custom fitting? I guess if one is built like Herman Monster that maybe the way to go. Obviously as one gets older the stock will need adjustment so maybe buying used and having stock adjusted is the way to go, yes?

From years of shooting I've learned that I do best with a shotgun that has a pistol grip its LOP can be no longer than a 13 3/4 inches and with a straight grip no longer than 14 inches. That's with all weather clothing, rain or shine, hot or cold. I don't have a dog so that gun has to fit me as its got to come up fast.

But looking through the auction sites those Armas Garbi shotguns are top tier Spanish guns.

The #1 grade Spanish guns were 6-7K 10-15 years ago, #2's about 3200, so if you check your date codes, you can see where he's at on it.
Exchange rates and the EU changed everything.

Garbi's are a top tier gun. I've never seen one with manufacturing problems, unlike AyA, Grulla, Ugartechea, some others.

As they say, buy the gun, not the name. Pop a lock and look inside.

Out there doing it best I can.
