Back in February Buzz had me out to his birdlease, east of Lubbock, for a hunt.
Buzz has a fine pack of dogs, all but one are English Pointers.
Jill on point, Buzz going in to flush:
The flush (note the bobwhite above the dog):

Jill on point again, Buzz going in for the flush:

And again:
We hunted early morning to mid afternoon the first day. We moved twenty-two coveys. Buzz has some very nice dogs but Jill and Doc were outstanding. They are the ideal West Texas bird dogs - big-running heat-tolerant bird-finding point-holding machines. Hunted early morning till Noon on the second day - seventeen coveys.
Buzz shot a very nice Joseph Lang sidelock, sixteen bore. And he was deadly with it. He was shooting RSTs with an ounce of #7s. I carried a little AH Fox XE 20ga and RSTs with 7/8oz of #8s. We had a dog-bowl full of empties:
The high was in the seventies both days. Saturday we moved twenty-two coveys, quitting at mid-afternoon. Sunday we hunted till Noon and moved seventeen coveys.
Buzz is good company. And he can walk for sure.
Jill and Doc can come live in my kennel anytime.
