What puzzles me is young and old going nuts over old socialist senator in a country that ranks socialists worse than atheists!
What's your opinion on that?
Good ol' Uncle Bernie promises: Free college. Free healthcare. Forgiveness of student loans. $15 an hour minimum wage. And he says good ol' Uncle Sam will furnish all the free stuff.
I am glad to be here.

Dead wrong! Surprised no one has reminded me of that. We're so used to you being wrong we don't even notice anymore. Hurts, but likely true. We hear a lot about disappointed Republican voters staying home election day. There may be even more disappointed Democrat voters who believe so much in Bernie that they stay home as well. A conservative who doesn't vote is voting for Hillary. You can bet your bippy that Hillary will get the same message out to all the Bernie fans out there. Vote!...Geo

What's your opinion on that? You limber ole fox. It's all in educat'in the village on the ways of progress. Yup, rub it in, while you're patting yourself on the back. Best part of it all, you can be sage, wise and measured while you mock the starry eyed who lack your super delegates....at the next wine tasting.

For a political thread, this has been pretty tame so far...Geo

Socialism always sounded wonderful on the surface. Unintelligent and low-information voters, and people who are not achievement motivated always fall for the false promises of Socialism. But there is nowhere that it has worked out well, except for the ruling class.
Socialism has crippled Greece, and threatens the foundation of the entire European Union. Spain now has debt greater than the value of its' economy, which is unsustainable. Venezuela is right now in a free fall economic and political collapse in spite of its' vast state controlled oil reserves. Before the Socialist Hugo Chavez took power, Venezuela was the richest country in Latin America.
“Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.” —Perth, Scotland, 28 May 1948, Winston Churchill, Europe Unite: Speeches 1947 & 1948 (London: Cassell, 1950), 347.
AND
“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.” Winston Churchill —House of Commons, 22 October 1945.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

That's my take, too. Impossible to deliver. Why do they believe it?

Because vast majority of Americans do not understand how government in Washington D.C. works. It is easy to find out what is wrong simply by listening to Senate speeches made by Bernie Sanders.

Desperate cold although lots of sun. Grape buds barely softening; they're out three- to five leaves in Ohio.
Since when does one have to be informed to have opinions? Politicizing supposedly non-partisan events is what politicians do. It's all stagecraft.
The National Post yesterday speculated maybe staged; didn't mention diving.

Helped my son buy his mother some Riesling vines for her birthday 10 days ago. Told him if they grow grapes, I'll show him how to make wine. Saunders doesn't puzzle me at all....flip side of the Trump coin. Outsider, not part of the machinery of Washington. Not beholden to the power brokers and superpac interests. Easy. That doesn't mean I buy his platform at all. But I don't think his platform would be so readily swallowed by all those young people if Bernie hadn't a history of being an outsider. They don't yet believe Bernie to be a cynical old crook the way they believe that, with good reason, of most other politicians.
