Bill, I'd really like to hear what you find out. Now, as I understand it, the seller does not work for The Gun Dude but uses them as a repository and receipient of funds, etc. I am guessing though that they were the ones who weighed the gun and measured the stock dimensions.
Thank God I've got my own bore and wall thickness gauges!

joe: it is my understanding that gunbroker's three day inspection return policy is unconditional and at the sole discretion of the buyer. and item can be returned for any reason...if you have not already done so, suggest you register a complaint with gb customer service...good luck and let us know the outcome...
keep it simple and keep it safe...

I agree, contact your card issuer, I've done this several times for different charges and never failed to get my money back. The gun was not as described, I think you'd make out OK.

Ed, as I read the user agreement Gunbroker completely absolves themselves of any responsibility. Here's a short quote from it:
"Please keep in mind that GunBroker.com is only a listing service - much like the classified ads in a newspaper. We are in no way affiliated with the sellers that list items here. We are not a court or a law enforcement agency and we cannot force the seller to issue you a refund."

Gunbroker will not be much help for you in this matter. It was not for me twice. Both times I had to deal with it myself. One time I sicked the postal inspector on the seller who failed to understand that the postal inspector is real and his powers to deal with mail fraud are not to be taken lightly. After he/she got involved the matter was resolved with my entire money being returned by postal money order in three days. The second time I used the credit card company to get my money returned and the BATF to deal with a FFL dealer who tried to run off with my money and not deliver a gun I had paid for. They puled his FFL. It seemed that they had three other complaint after mine and they take almost a zero tolerance view when it comes to FFL and complaints. They investigate, look for reason to crack down and do so when they can or have to.

I would challenge as the difference is excessive
I have gambled on gunbroker, gunsamerica, and gunsinternational
Most guns dealers do not seem to actually understand sxs guns
Half dont understand refinish, and many are horse dealers in the worse tradition.
I once brought a 14 gauge BLNE and what arrived was a 20 ga, looking back on it if i did a better job reading the photo i would have caught it. After i got the gun back on face by Terry Nichols its ok and I won't lose much.. But that said if it had had the issues you describe it would have gone back.
Looking at the fuzzy photos was the tell in hindsight, either a fool or a crook.
I have only backed out of a gun deal once ( with a member of this board too) and I can say he was a gentleman and was good about it. Moreover that lead to me later buying a gun from him that I still have.
Life is not full of such guys, they are more like the ones you are dealing with
