One of my old quail hunting buddies was buried, by his loving son, in his briar britches, bird coat, and with his beloved Parker 20 alongside him. I thought it was a very unselfish thing for a son to do for his Dad. Not as misguided as spending $15,000 on a lavish wooden box to place them in, as some do. His son also knew, as I did, that if ever there was a "wore-out" Parker, that was it.

Thanks for all the input. The stock has been in direct sun light for a few days and it is getting better.

My father wishes to buried with the 03A3 that he carried in WWII, it was a brought back in a duffel bag I suspect. I will see to it. It saved him, made me possible and is a solid link to many friends who were not as lucky.

The undertaker has already been warned and will allow me to put it into the casket when every I choose. I plan to have in in the casket for the viewing and then take a gun case out in plan view after the casket is closed when others are not inside with me. Let others assume that I took the rifle out as the last opportunity. A soft case with a broom stick looks like a case with a gun in it.
