I just can't get enough of looking at this engraving work. What is the proper term for the "bands" that are around the circumference of the receiver balls ....... in a quarter circle beneath the balls ....... just beneath the barrel flat, on the receiver side ....... and around the floor plate? They are just superb.

The woodcock even look like they were done 100 years ago, imperfectly styled. I know beyond any doubt that was intentional.
