You may be pleasantly surprised: when one looks at the gun making side of the UK shooting industry, I suspect the export market is at least (probably more) important than the domestic one.

Indeed the "new wave" of makers such as Boxall and Edmiston + Longthorne are probably keen to tap disposable income wherever it sits (by way of example, Longthorne have recently relocated with a view to increasing output to 1000 guns pa, a 10x increase, and I struggle to see anywhere near that many staying in Britain).
