Irrational, I read your description too fast and missed what Moses just pointed out, namely that your Reilly's stock has a notched horn buttplate. Personally, I would be reluctant to mess with these nice original features by doing a stock extension, which would necessarily eliminate the notched horn buttplate. I would be inclined to use a boot, as others have suggested. I think you may have a good selection of boots in the UK. The nicest ones I have seen here recently are made by Gary Fatherree at Accu-Riser. Their website is http://accu-riser.com

We still don't seem to know how much extension OP needs or wants. If "notched" horn butt plate refers to the small widow's peak at the top of the pad (as with Parkers), then that is easily taken care of with a little black epoxy in the mortise to blend it with the backing plate on a new pad. I have two guns that were extended that way, but no pics on this computer.

Replacement - that's a much better description of the pad that is currently fitted and a potentially good solution, thank you.
In terms of extension, ideally looking for 1 to 1 1/2 inches (which is why the neoprene slip on seems to flex a bit too much) but a bit of compromise may be needed depending on how close other dimensions are to my ideal ones.

ideally looking for 1 to 1 1/2 inches That should be a piece of cake for a competent fitter.

How about this one? For some reason, it reminded me of a pencil and eraser. Dixon Ticonderoga No. 2 sidelock, perhaps?
