Ah, my inappropriate use of words. My friend and James's acquaintance Farley Mowat, a much-loved author considered such a threat to the US that it wouldn't let him in the country because of his words, would stop my imagined miscreant, not kill him. As an infantry officer in WW2, he was taught to kill with his hands, if necessary. The death penalty was abolished in Canada a long time ago.

Madness, as out of one's mind, explicates the human tragedy, craig. LGBT as Mateen's target a big part of it. So you made this post to help defeat Trump and elect Gun-Control-Hillary?
I am glad to be here.

You impute a motive to me that is not correct, Mike. Craig implied I wasn't thinking of the human loss. I replied it was madness targeting a specific group (although it hurt the whole country and elsewhere, as hate does always).

But you are a liberal (not the party, the point of view). And you made that post.
So did you make that post to help defeat Trump?
Typing from my iPhone with out glasses. Please excuse my grammar and spelling.

Is this what you're once again trying to say King? Democracies make choices. Americans accept mass murder to defend an individual right to bear arms in the name of personal freedom. No King, we don't accept mass murder. We find it abhorrent. It's hardly news to know that you'd like to see the same restrictions on gun rights imposed upon us as you are content with in Canada: Gun control doesn't work? I believe gun control works reasonably generally in Canada, providing a less violent society compared to some others, in good part because of our different culture. I find it interesting that you had no response to AmarilloMike's comments on the real root cause of this Terrorist Attack... namely Radical Islam. You Liberals are always making excuses for them and saying that it is unfair to criticize an entire religion for the violent acts of a few. Yet you have no problem criticizing tens of millions of law abiding U.S. gun owners for the acts of this one Muslim ISIS extremist. And you want us to incrementally give up our Constitutional Rights. Let's not forget that the worst Mass Murder in U.S. history was accomplished not with guns, but with box cutters used to hijack fuel-laden jets. That one was committed by Muslims too. Now our 24/7 News Cycle is endlessly telling us that our FBI does not have the resources to find and track all of these violent Muslim extremists. And your hero Barack Hussein Obama is bringing in tens of thousands of unvetted Muslims from Syria and other countries with legions of ISIS and Al Qeada terrorists... as he is once again calling for more gun control laws.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

Not doing anything to prevent future recurrence = acceptance. Both Republicans and Democrats are implicit in bringing vetted immigrants from the Middle East. Now go and say hello to "Ahmed" at your local Walmart.

Get a grip, Joe. There will never be enough Muslims in this country to have a significant influence on anything.

We make too much of grammar and spelling, Mike, as if they're high values of character. I'm interested as most Canadians in your federal election but none of us can help or hinder candidates.
I am a liberal who considers Clinton untrustworthy, as I've declared here several times, and would support Sanders although Clinton is most qualified of them all. The Republican Party is asunder almost irreparably for the same reasons I consider Trump anathema to America's world-acclaimed values.
Saying that can't help to defeat Trump, as you say. He's simply the inevitable result of a broken political system in the same way millions of Democrats were trying to defeat Clinton. The unprecedented dissent against inequality makes them, in a sense, all liberals. Bless them all.
Democrat or Republican, their seemingly irrational dissent is because they recognize how long and manipulative their parties are rigged against them. I don't worry about the outcome. America won't elect a proto-fascist. It can think for itself. It doesn't need me.
And I knew all along that good man Bernie couldn't deliver what he promised in the current political environment. He tugged at my heart strings, that's all.
