Buried my dad quite a few years ago, lung cancer. He was a WWII army veteran and was awarded the purple heart for wounds received on Okinawa. Like the vast majority of them he never talked about it much.
Sad to say, but I'm glad he is not here to see the deterioration of this country and that he fought for.
Same for my FIL, battle of the bulge, but not on the front line. He also would be saddened by this country's direction.
