Remember the blue ruin forecast here when Obama came in? Remember I said America is so much in love with its guns there would be little change, cosmetic at most, and later that he'd do nothing to hurt Clinton's run in '16? And the squeaking that I was trying to mollify concerned shooters?.... You tend to create and poke fun at 'chicken littles'. Sure, I remember. I've always known, to my way of thinking, that it's an incremental process and well on its way. Hill's main gun control position is undemocratically expanding industry liability, not 'blue ruin'. What's that going to do for the innocuous double gunner, the next time an RST shell was chambered up in an accidental shooting? As mentioned many times, undemocratically, the lower courts have been stacked to the left, and the high court is on the brink of an ideological activist change, not 'blue ruin'. Bern didn't create his legions of starry eyed entitlement seekers, they were in grade school in '08. They were brought up in the 'system', not blue ruined. No doubt America is facing a slow motion 'blue ruin'. I suspect you're much like Jm, I'll ride along as long as it doesn't affect me? I'd make no mistake that you've gotten another piece of 'blue ruin' under your belt with the fellow winding down now. No, I don't think he's done yet with his pen and phone, wink, undemocratic. The important lesson to be learned, pc can be more useful than we could've ever imagined in our wildest dreams, eh?

....Journalism attracts liberals.... Not so King. Maybe you remember, your 'colleagues' ostracize any nonlib attractees. The power of the press, or of the undemocratic?

Everyone is disappointed at some time in some way or another, Mike. It's impossible for a Canadian to have any influence on American policy, for Americans to choose.
I stand by my NRA criticism for its insensitivity to a grieving nation immediately after Sandy Hook, as a deterrent to NRA support which it became, and my prediction of negligible gun control was accurate.
It's peculiar to me how two accurate observations by a Canadian has any bearing on your right to keep and bear arms. You pile on too much influence. Elucidate, please.

Keith is right, you really are for suppressing our right to keep and bear arms. I am disappointed in you.
I didn't say you are having a bearing on our right to keep and bear arms. I said "you really are for suppressing our right to keep and bear arms." The NRA came out with its school security recommendations after Obama, the Democrats, Brady Center, CBS, MSNBC, and the New York Times immediately began politicizing the mass murder with calls for more gun control laws. And many, many schools all over the country implemented the NRA's recommendations.
I am glad to be here.

All print is in trouble, Mike, financially and journalistically. Paying for good journalism and overseas bureaux is becoming unsustainable. Pleased we share an interest in the newspaper. Without a diet of reasonably sourced information there can't be decisions in the public interest. Heard on radio today there's shocking ignorance in Britain and Europe about the EU on eve of Britain's vote tomorrow to leave it. In Canada we have one really good newspaper, The Globe and Mail, owned by a conservative family and its news columns mostly reflecting a liberal point of view.

Nevertheless, the NYT is in descendancy.
The news they choose to print is pretty accurate. But is not the full spectrum of all the news. They, like many mainstream media outlets, frequently don't report incidents and events that run counter to advancing their agenda. That practice, in and of itself, is inaccurate, manipulative and dishonest.
In their crusade against the Second Amendment rights NYTs frequently prints inaccurate information about firearms and fails to fact check statements by politicians, anti-firearm groups, and their other contributors.
I am glad to be here.

My opinions aren't to suppress your rights. I couldn't do that even if I wanted to. There's no changing minds on this mostly conservative board, anyway.
My NRA dissent had nothing to do with its security recommendations. It was its declaration barely after the blood dried that the US needs more guns.
It had the effect I predicted on its membership. And I don't think more guns has had a salutary effect in stopping the slaughters.

I like your sentence "But is not the full spectrum of all the news." A fair indictment of "All the news fit to print."

You can't suppress our Second Amendment rights.
But you are for suppressing our Second Amendment rights. And you have argued for that suppression many times here.
Again, the NRA issued its statement on school security after the mass murder had been politicized by those who are antagonistic of our right to keep and bare arms. It is an old liberal tactic to try to shame the right into silence with political correctness and by making accusations of dog whistles, racism, and misogyny while the Left advocates it positions unfettered and unencumbered.
I am glad to be here.

I am embarrassed by my frequent error of misspelling "bare arms" as "bear arms".
