Pretty hard to say, Larry. That serial number should put the gun in production well before the Bruchet's involvment, either as workers or owners.
Sometimes you will turn up a sliding breech gun with a triangular mark on the flats that has the leters VU in it, most often on sliding breech copies. That means it made it to the Darne shops for something, repair, typically, and the mark literally means "viewed" or seen by Darne.
If you are having fun with the gun, that is a good thing, Larry. What took you so long? Dustin and I will blow some raspberries your way, and thumb our noses, for good measure.
