I'd note that the gun, although 2 3/4", carries the standard CIP (European) proof of 850 bars. That means a service pressure about 800 psi below our American (SAAMI) standard service pressure. If it were mine, I'd go easy on heavy shot charges and high velocity. If you reload, you can work up some pretty low pressure loads at moderate velocity that will work very well on birds as large as pheasants. I have one using Unique, pushing 1 1/8 oz shot in the mid-1100 fps range at not much over 7,000 psi. Throws great patterns, and I seldom use anything heavier for ringnecks.
