There's hope, a sense of reasonableness, on balance of evidence on this thread. Without striving in that direction there can be no improvement. Bless the US.

'Hey King, not you, but to libs/progressives in general. How could there ever be much common ground, when libs, all libs, actively or tacitly justify such means to ends that never quite satisfy their feelings? Head scratcher, eh, but not to you?'
Funny how this kind of thing rarely happens in most liberal leaning, western countries of the world. Even the ones voted best countries to live in. This type of event, and struggles of people, seem to be mainly restricted to tue U.S. Why?

Our November general election may well result in a sea change for the conservative vs. liberal climate in the USA. If Hillary and President Obama take it and coat-tail in a liberal Senate or House, then we'll have the progressive paradise so many hope for. If not we'll just have to see what happens...Geo

Our nation was founded by rebels who knew and understood history. As a result of that knowledge they had a deep distrust of government. They put in personal protections (Bill of Rights) for individuals in our Constitution, including the right to keep and bare arms. This was to afford individuals the means to protect themselves and to resist, should it occur, tyranny. The liberal Democratic party and their propaganda organs have fostered a perception that since Blacks are disproportionately shot by policeman it is because of racism. But according to the FBI Uniform Crime Statistics the rate that Black murderers occur in the Black population is six times the rate that White murderers occur in the White population. So it is fair to assume that Blacks have a much higher rate of criminality in their population. As a result of higher criminality rate they have a disproportionate and much higher rate (to the Black population) of interaction with the Police. Police are human. Police make mistakes and make errors in judgements. Blacks suffer disproportionately from those mistakes because of their higher criminality rate. Many of the Blacks that are the victims of bad policing are/were honest and innocent citizens. But the Democrats and liberals and MSNBC and CNN and The New York Times ignore the statistics of Black criminality when reporting on the occurrences of Police shooting Blacks. But the idiots like the Dallas mass murderer get angry listening to that well crafted narrative presented by Mr. Obama and echoed by the race hustlers and he then goes after innocent policemen. (I believe the policeman in Minnesota made a mistake when he shot the Black citizen motorist with the CCL. I think the police in Louisiana made a mistake when the shot the Black citizen selling CDs. I think that Black Louisiana citizen made a mistake when he resisted arrest).
I am glad to be here.

Keep thinking the way you are AM. Not that any race is without its faults. You reap what you sow. Good luck with that.
I'd prefer to help a man with a leg up, than blame him for laying there. Humans are not perfect, no matter what there color.
And by the way, it sounds like some here could not care about protecting themselves against the government, but are more concerned with just having the right to own a bunch a of guns. Kieth made that perfectly clear, or all some would have is a few hunting rifles, and an AR15 with a bunch of ammo.....just in case.
Admit it...we love guns...not just to protect ourselves from an oppressive government.

This type of event, and struggles of people, seem to be mainly restricted to tue U.S. Why? How come you strive to be so wrong? 'This kind of thing' always happens where liberals lean. Jag wrote, 'sadly in such struggles innocent must often be lost'. King downplayed it, jag dragged his agreeable buddy nca into it, and now you try an unrelated distraction. Liberals never care how violent and tragic the road is, it happened to someone else in their neighborhood. You actually do agree that those police officers 'must' have died because you feel like the 'struggle' is righteous, eh. Where's King again, you observed and reported about the formative process of this mindset. The progress so to speak. Any thought as to why the Dallas shooting 'must' have had to happen? I'm offended, no beer summit for the survivors. Just kidding around dal, thanks for being so civil and understanding.

The president has made it clear that it is LEGAL guns that are to blame. Making that case is a step on the way to gun confiscation. Liberals can poo-poo that all they want, but that is the case. Obama is one who never lets a crisis go to waste. He immediately politicizes it. If you like your doctor, you can keep you doctor. If you like your side by side, you can keep it. Oh yeah, the president is a liar. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/obama-...article/2596063Obama: Legal guns drive wedge between cops and communities Legal ownership of weapons is creating tensions between police officers and communities, President Obama said to buttress his call for tighter gun laws. "Part of what's creating tensions between communities and the police is the fact that police are having a really difficult time in communities where they know guns are everywhere," Obama said during a NATO press conference in Warsaw, Poland. "They have a right to come home, and now they have very little margin for error in terms of making decisions. So if you care about the safety of our police officers, then you can't set aside the gun issue and pretend that that's irrelevant." Obama introduced that idea after mentioning "routine" violence in Chicago, Ill., a city with tight gun restrictions, but he made clear that legally-owned guns also pose a problem for law enforcement by citing the violence of the last week. "At the protest in Dallas, one of the challenges for the Dallas Police Department as they're being shot at is because this is an open-carry state there are a bunch of people who are participating in a protest who have weapons on them," he said. "In Minneapolis, we don't know yet what happened, but we do know that there was a gun in the car that apparently was licensed, but it caused in some fashion those tragic events. So, no, we can't just ignore that and pretend that's somehow political or the president pushing his policy agenda." In Minnesota, a police officer shot a man during a traffic stop who had a gun but who might have been reaching for his wallet. "It is a contributing factor, not the sole factor but a contributing factor to the broader tensions that arise between police and the communities where they serve," Obama said.

Hi dal.
I am all for helping people do things they can't do for themselves.
Generally, I am against doing things for people that they can and should do for themselves.
I love all my constitutional rights, including my right to keep and bare arms.
I really like my American doubles - Fox, Parker, Ithaca and Iver Johnson. And I really like my English doubles, London and Birmingham. Like my German, Belgian, and French doubles too. Like my Russian Saiga AK47 semiauto too. And my 300 Weatherby magnum Mark V and my 340 Weatherby magnum Mark V and my sporterized WWI Springfield 30-06 deer rifle.
But owning them is my right as a citizen of this country.
I am glad to be here.

Obama is ŕ liar, open carry did not have a damn thing to do with a Black Panther and BLM sympathizer Bush Wacking Police, he could have disguised or hid the rifle. As a matter of fact I have seen not one shred of evidence that Micah X Brown carried a weapon openly.
And as the propaganda that this was a peace protest, BS !
There was looting and taunting of the Police after 5 were killed and 6 were wounded, by the peaceful protesters.
