I went to a small auction today. They had a very nice German 16 ga double (Karl Habacht or something like that) that went for small money. The only reason I didn't buy it is that some idiot had hacked off the sling swivel on the barrels with a hack saw and filled the hole in the stock with something that looked like tar.

Nothing the government gives you is free.

Don't remove the swivels, you need them. Buy a quick adjusting sling from The German Gun Collectors Assn.

I doubt I will do anything but fix crossbolt.just wish it didn't have somethings like cheek swell and swivels. I think I can change things,but just would be throwing money away.
