Some of you may have noticed three Ebay auctions for parts from a 16ga. NID Field Grade. I talked to the seller and the truth of it is he parted it out because he couldn't get $750 for the entire gun in the gun auctions.
The gun looked like it has some honest wear, the seller seemed to know his stuff and told me that other for a few cosmetic issues chipped buttplat, worn varnish and missing some blue on one side) it was a nice NID.
I got the barrels, I'm going to see I can fit them to my 1937 gun. The barrels I have don't ring too well and this seems cheaper than having the original set stripped, etc. Someone else got the stock set and all the internals. The seller kept the receiver but will probably offer it to the other buyer.
So he only got about $640 for the 3 auctions, not including the receiver. Too bad, would have been a nice shooter.
