After logging in here every day for the last decade, " ... this is the most assanine thread" you "have ever read on this BBS," and you just can't believe that the people who hang out here would be dismayed to hear that a perfectly good classic double had been scrapped and sold for parts at below market value? Gimme a break!
For what it's worth, I don't question this dealer's morals (too strong a word in my opinion), but I do question his business sense. I'm sure he still made money, but it was $110 less than he planned on,
and he had to tear the gun down and ship to multiple buyers. Moreover, I maintain he could have certainly gotten more than $640, and probably the entire $750 he wanted in the first place, if he'd just been a bit more patient or tried a different strategy. I'm just glad that, thanks to Walt and Rob, it sounds like the gun's going to get put back together.
I stand by my earlier post and also agree with every word GregSY says. I can't spend time worrying if that's going to get your panties all in a bunch. We all have a right to state our opinions, and we all go "over the top" now and then, but it's always best to think twice and type once. TT
