Hi all, just one of these fun posts (I hope!). Anyway, if you run across any guns up for sale with an over the top price tag. post them here. Hope we'll get a good laugh or two.
Best,
Greg

I'll start it off Greg! http://www.gunbroker.com/item/574279433MAYBE $800.00 on a good day with the right buyer. I'd like to have it but I think he would be insulted with my offer. Been on GB for well over a year. I'm a sucker for small bore light weight Flues guns.

Ithaca 1 that's old Mikee J again. He seems to consign a lot of stuff I am intersted in, but his pricing is hopeful to say the least. He will deal, but I think he is limited by what his consignors demand some times...Geo

Happened to visit the Scheels store in Coralville, Iowa (Iowa City)not long ago. They didn't have much for sxs, but they did have a couple of Winchester 24's. Something like $900 for a 16ga and $1500 for a 20ga. I might be off on the prices because I had an immediate case of sticker shock.

Cabellas in West Chester Ohio had a Ithaca/Western Arms .410 in 75% condition that had a sale price of almost 4 grand on it. Worse they called it a Luck Race or Luck Range model. Can't fix stupid but stupid can put one heck of a price on a gun.
On the flip side I bought a Remington Model 12 pump small bore rifle in Remington Special .22 for almost nothing because they "explained" to me that ammo for it is no longer made anywhere in the world. Same gun room. They marked it down with no return all sales final price. It is a 90-95% gun and it does not seem to know that Winchester Special ammo is not Remington Special ammo.
And to be fair I have miss-listed a gun, two to be honest, recently myself. I have been thinning out the herd and listed a Lefever Nitro Special as a A Grade. My mistake was because I had a 12 and 20 A grade which I was selling at the time as well on another site and got the descriptions mixed up and photos switched. Now the Nitro Special I had is a nice one, for a Nitro Special, but it was not A Grade. Lucky for me the A Grades did not sell for the Nitro Special price. Both sold, but not for about two thirds of their real values.

I remember a guy who used the name "Sly" that used to try and sell mediocre guns with stratosphere prices and his ads would be on Gunbroker forever. Haven't seen his ads in awhile. Jim

Outrageous prices are all over the place. I have brought and traded with Mike and he will deal. I don't know how much consigning he does versus straight sales.
In person, I like him and found him straight, on his adds he does do the salesman stuff more than I think he should.
Like everything out there stuff is worth what someone will pay, which is why many guns never seem to leave gunbroker.

I dealt with Mike on a Flues gun once. EZ to talk to. Wound up sending the gun back because the barrels shrunk from 30" to 28" between OK and TX. My returned funds passed the gun on the way back. He seems stand up. The good thing is he saves me an annual trip to the cardiologist. If I go and look at his prices and don't have a heart attack, we're good for another year!
