Local Gander Mountain has a side plated Lefever that mostly looks great. I believe it has been restocked and refinished, including new case colors. They're asking $4900. Oh, the left barrel has a bulge that sticks out over 1/4", there are numerous dents in both barrels and the bores are rougher than a washed out gravel road. Without barrels it's just a parts gun. I hope no one buys it and tries to shoot it as those barrels look dangerous.
Regards,
Jeff

I occasionally get a good chuckle from Mikeej's prices but having bought from him and sold to him, I think he is generally a stand up dealer.
I like the $8,000 Lefever E grade that has a permanent home on GB. It was bid t 6K once and didn't hit reserve and actually sold with a buy it now once but was subsequently relisted.

The market is not what it use to be. I have sold a bunch of British guns this year, at much lower prices than pre-2009, but if I want them to move the prices need to reflect the current market conditions. From what I saw from my last shipment, a decent Birmingham BLNE now moves at about 800$ or about half the value they formerly were. Nice condition guns bring more, so do ejectors and especially small bores. Guns do sell when priced correctly but a bunch of dealers just sit on inventory which is a theory I can not wrap my brain around.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder what the interest is among the younger shooters for old Brit doubles. More & more are going to come into the market as old boys drop off their peg & go home.
I know one fellow with 600 guns & I wonder how just that one clearing sale event will affect the market.

Goodness is right. Consignor stated he is selling in an attempt to "alleviate homefront tensions". blush

Wifey might be wanting a new Denali.

That Parker is an excellent gun, but to not sell at $48k is just plain ridiculous.

I recently saw a bunch of nice American and British guns at a dealer in RI. Beautiful but way over the top. When I asked if they actually sell for those figures the reply was "we are in this for the long haul." Wondered if he meant a lifetime or piled high and deep.

He bought the "stuff" on the high point....thinking it would keep going up ....and his brain will not re-adjust ...his heirs will have to sell them....
