I served on the BOD of National Capital Skeet and Trap in Maryland, the home of the longest continuously run NSSA skeet shoot. We had to downsize the shoot, but had to continue to run it in order to keep our date, which was in effect at least since the end of WW2. We could have discontinued the shoot, but some other club would have jumped on our date. Linda and I also served on the NSCA scheduling committee for another club we were active in. It was the same thing there. We had to attend every scheduling meeting and continue using our dates in order to keep our dates. With NSSA and NSCA, you are bound by the rules of your state organization, no gentleman's agreement on scheduling. In the side by side world, there are no scheduling rules, only gentlemanly behavior. In this case, it looks like Mike Koneski is the gentleman and Gary Lacey is the bully. Mike and Gary are both friends of mine, but Gary's behavior requires some explanation. No one can expect to hold on to a date if they don't use it. Bill Murphy
