C.H.Maleham and T.Murfin patented a hammerless action for double guns #940 of 1873.This action was cocked by the top lever.A Maleham gun featuring this patent is reviewed in The book, "Shotguns and Gunsmiths", by the late Geoffrey Boothroyd.The action had very limited sales, examples of same are scarce. Boothroyd reports that by the 1880,s Maleham was selling guns using the A.& D. action with Scott top lever
