Today is my first day of Dove season. I wish everyone good hunting, safe shooting and hope you all enjoy your friends, family and the occasional visit from the game warden.

It's gonna be out of here by daybreak Saturday, Geo. Doves won't have fed much for 24 hrs. or so, and ought to pour into the sunflowers to feed. It just may be the "perfect storm".

Good shooting to all who opened it up today.

It was "good shooting" today Stan, as in opportunities on lots of Birds, good companion and good health....
I am going to be self critical and say I did not shoot great , but good.......

Dodging scattered , sporadic, localized rain showers last three days.
Rain at the conclusion of this afternoon's shoot has me scrambling to find a dry field for tomorrow morning....

Hope all who opened today had a First rate outing, and wishing you Southern boys a Grand opener when yours rolls around.

Thanks for that report, my friend. Here's hoping you have just as great a year as you did last. And I'll bet your shooting was better than you let on. Did you shoot that Fabbri 20 today?

Hermine passed over here last night. Still raining but we have power and no fallen trees in the yard. I'm planning to hunt all weekend...Geo

Our hunt near St. Louis was a "BUST." The doves forget to come to the party...
