We are in the middle Hermine right now. I've received over 4" of rain, but winds have been no big deal, so far. I think being on the western side of it has been a blessing. Will probably get another 3" or so rain before it passes this evening. Hope y'all didn't have too much damage down there, Geo.

Our sunflower field for tomorrow is sandy land, but even with that I suspect it will be muddy enough to bog a housecat with shingles on his feet.

1 day, 0 hrs., 44 minutes and 13 seconds. Yabba dabba do!

Terrible opener on Maryland's Eastern Shore. When the farmer calls you a couple days before the opener and tells you to "stay home", believe him.

Looking at the field where skeetx was hunting, now I know why they say you can see Dallas from Amarillo because it is so flat!

I don't see what attracts the doves in that area, Mike. Are those green weeds something that bears seeds the doves like? We have a weed called wooly croton that they love, but those don't look like it.

No, these is NOTHING there to attract doves that I can see,
but it is between town and a small pond.
So we shoot passers, this year they are NOT paying any attention to the decoys.
So they are FAST and sometimes HIGH and a real challenge smile

One saving grace is that we have a few section to hunt by ourselves.

Mike

Did you put them barrels on that gun backwards? I found an old rusty "E" grade Lefever in the closet, and got 13 Palomas yesterday.....Seven today with my sawed off CZ...

LD, what you talkin about??
Do you not know a special compensator to reduce recoil for my 410 smile

Actually they are a set of 4 for the Superposed 20, 28, and 410 barrels on the 20 gauge frame and the 12 gauge barrels on the standard frame so the visual will be the same on all four gauges for skeet. These are OLD and from the 50s or 60s

Great pic of the doves. That looks like the spot to be tomorrow! Let us know how it goes.

Good shooting to all who open it tomorrow, along with me and my two grandsons.

No ragweed there Mike? I think Dove are fond of ragweed seed and I'm sure the pond helps too.
