I've rolled the dice at Holts for the last time most likely. The cost to ship, 25% premium, the fact the I don't get to view the gun and must pay someone to view everyone I'm interested in all add up. Plus auctions are mostly cripples not gems being sold at bargain prices. Anything pristine or even just decent gets bought in person unless it goes for near retail. Anything with major problems is not bought by those in attendance. So I figure I have as much chance to buy a decent gun near retail price or worse a bargain prices cripple which becomes a money pit.
Gone are the days of buying a gun for less than a grand, having it sent by mail directly to your house.
