Many years ago I had a farm worker living on my farm who explained to me when you see gas sign which reads 2.09 9/10 that meant 2.09 for 9/10's of a gallon of gas. No amount of explaining anything to him could change his mind.
He did vote a straight Democratic Ballot every election because he believed in democracy and Democratc was the party of democracy. The Republican Party was trying to make us into a Republic. I guess the Whig party would force us to wear Whigs if they won or the Do Nothing party would make us do nothing.
