Yep. I saw the "18" on the barrels. I'm ignorant about the maker. It's obviously a quality gun. Anyone know anything about them?

That is a beauty. If I wasn't getting out of the ML sport, I'd drool all over it. Price is probably not out of reason either, with the case and all the goodies. The picture looks like the stock is nice and high, like we prefer now. If the bores are good, it might be a treasure.

It's a nice gun I don't think the sellers claim that "The gun itself is equal in quality to a Purdey or other top London maker" is true. I'd say it was a fair price if you were looking for a smaller guage and like a box full of trinkets that you'll never use. To me, that Thomas Bland seems a little odd with what appears to be fluid steel barrels and that butt plate. JMHO

Odd and a Low quality Bland.
I think they stated in the description that the barrels had been replaced. The butt plate looks like an "Ann Lander" job.
The Bland would be a good front-loader for Lowell...with his fear of damascus.

I note in the listing seller states the bores measure .652". A 16ga goes .662", a 17ga .649" & an 18ga is .637". This gun was likely proofed prior to the introduction of sub-gauges so there would have been no 18/1 at time of proof. Thus it could have been close to the 17ga dia at proof & been polished out a little over the years. As long as wall thickness is ample 16ga wads should work for shooting it. For a number of years I shot an old I Hollis percussion dbl marked 12 with 11ga wads as the bores measured about .750".
