I recognize this may be considered heresy by some, but I am contemplating getting a modern coating type finish on my travel gun (Winchester 23). I am looking into teflon or a ceramic coatings. I want to avoid the need to engage in the same level of every day maintenance that I have on my other doubles. Additionally, I would like the advantage of a non-reflective surface.
I recognize these finishes are generally "baked" on, but I am told this is done at a relatively low temperature (under 300 degrees F.). I do not think it will be an issue with loosening the ribs.
Has anyone else tried this and if so what was your experience?
