This Fortuna drilling was manufactured
by "VEB Ernst Taehlmann Werke, Suhl, DDR (German Democratic Republic), a combined factory from former Merkel, Simson, Sauer etc. after WWII. Fortuna was a brand of Ernst Thaelmann Werke. The communist leader Ernst Thaelmann was murdered 1944 in KZ.
Most of the hunting weapons of this DDR era were from low quality due missing material from high quality.
This low grade drilling with hardened color finish is very cheap in Europe (300.- / 500.- €) only scope and its mount is from high quality. The scope mount is a "Suhler Einhakmontage", best of all.
To adjust the side you must use the screw on the rear turret, to adjust the high you must use the screw under the cap on the top of the scope. If you will remove the scope you must pull back the grips on the rear turret.
