It wasn't as much the sheriff as the local police department. They confiscated the guns, but had no procedure to auction then off. The sheriff had a procedure and did it for the police's benefit, the police department got the money, not the sheriff. On the other hand my friends cause of action would be with the sheriff. All in all, a big mess.

They are going to auction the action without the barrels. I will buy the action. I asked if they would deactivate the barrels. They are going to run it past their attorney. I have no doubt I will buy it on the cheap. Sound like a neat project.

Make sure you also get the forend if they shoot you down on the barrels.

Some idiot might just throw it in the crusher pile if you don't ask for it.

I would assume my B Grade ten was in a police property room at one time. I understand that most of those property rooms are unlocked at night. I have two sets of barrels fitted to that gun, one 30" Titanic Steel, bought alone and one confiscated from a 32" E Grade ten. Unfortunately, the gun also needs a restock. The present restock is unacceptable. However, it will be quite a gun when it is done. It was displayed by Parker Brothers at the 1893 World's Fair.

I emailed duckcrazy and asked if he would bring us up to date on the cut off Parker. Looking for a reply.

i sent him a PM in June and in July- asked him if he got it and wanted to tell him Jason had a barrel - no response

the barrel may be gone by now-

it would be interesting to know if the gun is going to be saved

but, I thought those barrels (they were sterlingworth wildfowls) was the best chance to get it shooting

The only parts that seem to have any value are the trigger bow and the action, so that the numbers can be looked up in a book as an HE.

well - its all just opinions- but mine is the action (it is the legal "gun") is the key here-seeing that it is a special size - the stock can have a butt transplant - if he could get the back end of the barrels they could be sleeved - but that would likely not make it economically sensible compared to having those wildfowl barrels fit up

so this would be a restored/rebuilt gun - not just a way to get another undocumented HE recognized as legal like the title game for a vehicle
