Drew, you missed my point entirely, which I am beginning to suspect is intentional on your part. It appears that your hermeneutics is highly selective, and apparently does not apply to you. I asked you where I had proof texted Scripture, and now you reply by asking me to proof text Matthew 5:22. I asked you where I mocked God, and you lamely answer by saying "Mocking God is claiming to be a disciple of Jesus Christ while saying or doing things that make Him look bad."
Somehow, in your mind, what you consider a "right judgement" from yourself becomes condemnation, or "katakrino" which should be reserved for God alone when
SOME of us mere mortals do the same thing. You still haven't told me why you think that katakrino doesn't apply to you. I emphasized the word
SOME, because your pious criticism is obviously reserved only for those who you disagree with politically. That, of course, is why your words are so hollow, hypocritical, and meaningless to me. Or would you have us all believe that you just never saw it when it comes from nca225, Wonko, Rocky Mtn Bill, or King Brown, etc.? Why, Ken61 saw this selective civility and name calling coming from King, and commented on it just a couple days ago in his post #462806:
I'm always fascinated when King pivots. Old Misfire's hands are used to this, whenever his totalitarianism is pummeled into the dust he pivots, becoming the "kinder, gentler" King. Here's quick list of words and terms King used (or referred to) earlier in the thread, before he made himself the target of derision and decided to pivot.
Regression, Punk's Game, Bigot, Misogynist, Racist, Moron, Punish his Enemies, Ignorance, Poisonous, Vile, Discrimination, Predatory, Boorish, Demeaning, Hatred.
All these wonderful terms were applied to Trump and/or his supporters, as well to other large parts of American society. This, of course, is what King really believes about America, his hatred for our founding principles, and the exercise in freedom that was the last election.
That was from your pal King in just one thread. Ken could have added greedy, selfish, hateful, It, the Fringe, and a host of other derogatory terms King uses to describe Conservatives who actually support the 2nd Amendment. But strangely, you never seem to have a problem that incites you to do the Lord's work when the denigration comes from your cohorts. Yet you hypocritically castigate Jim, Dave K, and me, and when I respond, as I am here, you go on to to accuse me of "bringing reproach to the name of Jesus Christ." Remember Drew, I never initiated a thread to launch a personal attack upon you. And if I ever did, I sure would have removed my signature line...
"Personal attacks only reflect the inadequacy of the argument, and the character of the attacker."...before I launched my attack. I wonder why you chose to remove it after the fact??? Actually, no, I don't wonder at all. But if you keep on doing your hermeneutics, you just might convince yourself that you really are better than the rest of us.
