So a couple years ago I tried my hand at refinishing the stock on a fox B series w/24" cylinder and I CHOKES. I started down that road because the screw that holds the foreend on was stripping out. On further inspection there was nothing backing the plate that holds the screw because the plate slides into the forend from the rear. So I filled the slot the plate slides into and routed a drop in slot so it could be installed from the top. Problem solved! Now the recoil is absorbed on the bedding compound. So then I decided what the heck strip the finish, pressed checkering and angles only slightly better than a 2x4. Ended up slimming the Beaver tail forend to fit my hand then shaved the pistol grip off and gave it a little personality behind the Locke. Finished with oil and here's the first duck that made the poor decision to decoy.
Wondering if anyone else dealt with the foreend screw stripping on these guns? Will post a few pics when I get back to the download station.

Happy to help,
1)you right click on the image-then "copy image location" 2)then use "enter image" button (4th from the left) and paste it in the display that pops up when you chose "enter non floating image"

Or add after it.

ChessieDog;Would love to see some closeups of the stockwork you did on this gun.
"AND" who was it said you can't kill ducks with a short barreled gun. Nice job on both counts.
