I suspect many if not most of his most expensive listings are consumer consignment pieces. With usual fee being 20% one is looking at at least that in premium for typical gun. Listing guns at higher prices assures future consignments and more traffic in store and on line at his site. The prices on used guns are always negotiable with old saying being "smaller profit is better than no profit at all". The problem is the owner may not go along with the plan.

Steve's prices are based on his being willing to give generous offers for trade ins for the purchase of guns that he may have priced a bit high.

Good to know that, Bill- but for folks like me who buy good graded guns to keep and use, the "trade-up" scenario doesn't "Play in Peorai" The last gun deal I made with a dealer from the Magnolia State was with Thad Scott- I bought my 12 Eagle Grade live bird gun from him about 12-13 years ago, if memory serves. He was one of the good ones, like Bill Jaqua in Ohio-IMO anyway.
