When it comes to Vintage Guns, being "Anal Retentive" is a positive trait. It supports the concept of "first, do no harm" when working on or caring for these guns.
I freely admit I have the trait, and admire it in others. Requesting information from others is always a good idea, however mundane the topic appears to some.
When using a rod and drill for the bores, I always use a breech bushing made from a shell base drilled to accept the rod diameter.

Ken, in this respect I would say we share the same outlook. I'm happy to ask just about any question to see if there is a better/safer way to look after or use my vintage guns. No question is too dumb to ask at least once.
