I was in a store called Ollie's Army a while back. They handle a lot of overruns, leftovers, out of dates etc so never the same stock when you go in. They always have a lot of books at drastically reduced prices. On this occasion they had a book on Daisy air rifles for about $2.00 so I bought. It showed a break open double as you describe Stan, was your's a Daisy. It was said to have been made for only a very short time & is today considered a highly desirable collector's item among Daisy collectors.

Yes, that was it, Miller. I went through a lot of air rifles, some of them I remember with fondness. Not that one. That being said, as always, I got rid of the stuff that end up being worth something as collectibles. SRH

Check these out for some interesting air guns: http://daystate.com/If you live in Scotland you would need a permit for your Daisy Red Rider! I can take my stalking rifle up there to shoot deer without a problem but not an air gun without an additional visitor's permit. Crackers! Lagopus.....

I have a Daystate Huntsman Regal XL. This is a very nice rifle. It is as accurate as any .22 I've ever seen and the workmanship is exquisite. Best part is the near exhibition grade wood on this bad boy. And I can set up my range in my back yard.

I do most of my hunting with air rifles in UK legal power (12ft/lbs) and higher power on a firearm cert. The latest big bore airguns are real game changers . I believe there's a massive following in South Africa with some guns producing more than 200 ft/lbs which I think outguns most .22 rimfire ammo.

I saw a double barrel air rifle about fifteen years ago. Beautifully made. But I don't believe it could kill a wild pig.

I understand that in some parts of Indonesia they use some sort of air shotgun cartridge weapon in order to circumnavigate their legislation. Anyone ever come across such things? Lagopus.....

http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Air_Venturi_Wing_Shot_Shotgun/3777 Here's one lagopus, not the best looking gun ever but I'm sure it does the job, it shoots bolts too ! Gamo made a .22 pellet or shotshell gun a few years back, not in the same league but I personally thought they looked very nice. Synthetic stock with grip pads and vented rib.
