My new 12/16 and 20/28 bore gauges arrived here in blighty today and I've gotta say I'm really pleased with them. I have an old (no longer made) skeets gauge which was fine but never reached right through a long set of barrels, fine for measuring 9 inch in for proof and for checking choke constriction but after being given the link on here, ordered new sets from Gary, he offers dial or digital in various lengths at very competitive prices, so I went for 18 inch which will do fine for up to 36 inch barrels, very handy for measuring when raising dents in the middle of barrels. I found the calibration ring to be an improvement on the skeets as they are always parallel to the shaft which gives a consistent reading.
Our government stung me for 20% of their value in tax, plus an 8 handling charge from our postal service but they still came in well cheaper than any of the alternatives I could find out there.
Today, I'm a happy shopper. Right, now to dent some barrels so I can test them

I have no connection with Centrefire Ranch but found them very friendly and easy to deal with, I would recommend them to anyone.
Plus, us Brits get to say bore without being challenged, a gauge gauge just doesn't sound right
