My thanks to Dan, Newton and Steven for your input and the additional photos Dan provided me. In looking at everything, I find I have a stack of this is a Wundhammer rifle and a stack of this isn't. In my opinion the isn't stack is higher. There are some distinct differences in the comb and also some other characteristics.
That said, I now ask does anyone know of a maker who might be responsible for this? I rule out Ross King for the same reasons I must rule out Wundhammer.
I believe this smith had the skills necessary to produce a fine rifle, but feel that perhaps his sense of proportions, I believe known as the "golden rule", wasn't as well tuned. For now it goes in the racks as my "Wanta be a Wundhammer"
