The .004"/inch is the chamber. The .024"/inch is the forcing cone reducing down to bore size. As the end of the chamber is normally about .070" over nominal bore size of .729" @ .024"/inch it would take near to an additional 3" to reach bore size. The .024"/inch over 1˝" (4Ľ"-2 3/4") would only give .036" reduction or about half the normal amount. What does your bore diameter read?
