Thanks for the tip on where to purchase Barge's Cement. It seem to be more difficult to find than it used to be.
Pliobond will do for leather work also but I prefer Barge & recently I've only been able to find the VOC compliant version of Pliobond locally which is almost worthless.
A few years ago I was with a friend of mine who was shooting a CSMC M21 with a Winchester style leather covered pad (not tucked under the pad base) installed by CSMC & we got caught in a rain storm with the result that the leather cover came off the pad before the end of the sporting clays round. It looked to us like the CSMC gunsmith used a white glue similar to good old Elmer's. What ever it was had zero water resistance.
