Graham Greener is very helpful answering questions at the Greener website and his book, "The Greener Story" is excellent.

Gentlemens:

Thank you all very much for your help. I have ordered the Greener book and look forward to reading it.

As you may have noticed, I am new to the vintage double gun world. What questions should I be asking about this gun?

As Terry says,
Quote:
The diamond inlay in place of a drop point was actually quite common on higher grade Greeners
I would go one further: if a high-grade Greener was offered without ebony inlays tucked away somewhere, I would immediately suspect a re-stock!

Its the subtle touches like that, hardly noticeable despite the expenditure of an enormous amount of skill and time, just because he could, that elevated Greener's game and pigeon guns to a higher level than his competitors at the time. This is a big part of their appeal to the British shotgun cognoscenti today!

Given all the discussion concering damascus barrels of late. How would you all approach this gun with regard to the age of the proof marks, and maximum psi of shells that a prudent person would feed it?
