This is a Husky I got in an estate sale group of guns. I have tried to find guns like it on the internet, but I can't seem to find anything the same.

Also tell me about the scope, no name, but looks like decent quality from the period.

And the mount, is this a detachable mount? I haven't seen this in any current Williams catalog.

What would be the value of this gun? Is it desirable? It does shoot well the little I have shot it. Nice compact handling carbine.

It's Husky's 'improved' Model '98. Umm, a 1640 I think? The scope look all the world like an El Paso Weaver. Perhaps the name is under the rear ring?

I watch Husky's on BrokeGunner almost daily. A lot of models are mis-identified so it's not very conclusive to search completed auctions. The walnut (I assume) stock adds value. The Weaver would be worth something to a guy like me but "modern shooters" would turn their nose up. However, they seem to languish when listed above $500 or so. Sure, every now and then, some guy gets all "het up" and has to have one but I would put value with the scope at $500-600 or there'bouts. If someone comes along and has a better vision, I will gladly stand corrected.

Yes, I doubt it would go even $500 around my area. Great guns, but unless it was in pristine condition it would be tough to get over $400 here. Just not highly collectable, and tons of solid bolt action hunting rifles around here.

As for Photobucket, I've dropped it completely and gone to Imgur, as it's fast, free, and very easy to work with!

Is that object protruding out of the left rear of the receiver the bolt stop. If so, how does it function?

Correct. It sort of 'pivots' down and away to the left to release the bolt. The single example here feels like it does not move enough to do any good but the bolt releases so I guess the designers knew what they were doing.
