Well, sort of a Don Brown. The barrel is a full octagon, falsemuzzled barrel with Pope rifling from Bobby Hoyt. There are some other nonstandard features too.

The Pedersoli Gibbs, of which I have owned one, can be a quality rifle. One must be sure that it has one of the "good" barrels. I think (I'm no expert here) that there was a period when their barrels were pretty good, but then a later period when they were excellent and now, I don't know. And they must be 18" twist. I'm not sure all of them are.

Off the rack, the best muzzleloader you can buy for sure. Nothing close in the long range game. That said I found mine to be fat in the wood, both wrist and forearm. But I'm a picky bastard.

For sure, they can win you a world championship.
